Research in the Cellular Neuroscience Imaging Laboratory integrates bioengineering, neuroscience, and medicine to investigate biological systems from the molecular to behavioral scale. A key focus of the lab is the development and application of Spatial Light Interference Microscopy (SLIM), a high resolution quantitative phase microscopy technique to address biomedical challenges.

Current research spans multiple domains, including studies of neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, glioblastoma, and traumatic brain injury. The lab also applies advanced imaging such as color SLIM and machine learning techniques to digital pathology problems in cancer.
