Information about the Biophotonics Imaging Laboratory.

The Biophotonics Imaging Laboratory combines the fields of engineering, medicine, and biology to develop novel optical biomedical imaging technologies and translate these for biological discovery and clinical applications. Biophotonics, the application of light in medicine, biology, and biotechnology applications, enables us to develop innovative technologies to detect disease at early stages when it is most amenable to treatment.

In our lab, we use a variety of techniques to further our research to develop in neurophotonics, cancer detection and diagnosis, and primary care, multimodal, and OCT imaging technologies plus a few other research thrusts.

The Principal Investigator of our lab is Stephen Boppart, M.D., Ph.D.
