Auditory neurophysiology and perception

Professor Gooler teaches courses at the undergraduate and graduate level including the areas of diagnostic audiology and hearing disorders, anatomy and physiology of hearing, and the science of sound and hearing. His research interests are in the basic and clinical aspects of sound pattern recognition and sound localization within the auditory system. His current research focuses on basic neurophysiological mechanisms of sound pattern recognition and sound localization, the neurophysiology of hearing in intact and disordered auditory systems, and sound pattern recognition in human listeners with intact and impaired hearing.
