Medical Scholars Program

A joint M.D./Ph.D. degree is offered in conjunction with the University of Illinois College of Medicine (Urbana-Champaign campus). The Medical Scholars Program integrates course work and research in neuroscience with medical training. The combined degree program requires an average of 6-8 years, with the final two years typically devoted to clinical training. Potential applicants should be aware that credentials of those admitted to the combined M.D./Ph.D. program are generally better than those of students admitted to the M.D. program, and that students with previous research experience will be viewed favorably in the selection process.
